My Edumacation

Education in other countries are far better than ours here in America, to me its simple VALUE of education in America is fairly poor due to the lack of support from parents on the importance of education. It starts home. Education to me or what i thought it was that i had to go it was mandatory and if i did not attend my mom would get fined and probably in jail, and it did not help that I was in the Foster system most of my education years. I never wanted to go to school because I was bullied for one, never really understood what was going on anyway, and i moved a lot. school was just a waste of time and never really matter to me, and if i felt that way now i wonder how many other kids were going thought the same or worse than myself. My father never went to school, he moved from Jamaica to America in his late teens (my mom says he swam here). My mother finished high school. As a college student its hard to believe i made the choice to become one but not surprising because i think i would be fine with not being here, but you need to play the game to win. Being here i still do not know what i am doing and it is going to get harder as time goes on, i do not think i will make to be completely honest, but they are going to have to drag me out. I've been to about 3 different High schools i try to forget those times the best i can Class did not matter to me or other unless you were in AP classes then they matter to you and the teacher. we were taught the regular classes Gym,science, history, math,English, and some other classes that i can't even tell you because i do not care. when i was in high school i did not think i would make it out of there you should've seen my transcript from 9th grade horrible! i was in "sped" classes just thinking about it makes me so mad. High school made me hate school period. one thing that i can say good about school( college) i feel like i am learning something useful especially English class.

this is my  new York school in the south Bronx. first day got into a fight.
this is one of the schools from upstate New York. i got  suspended the first day.

this is the school i graduated from (: but first day i got called the N-word. it was mostly white kids.

Any Questions i am happy to answer, advise etc...............

GUCCI

Typical huh? Gucci's ad has a man chiseled like a Greek god and the woman seems to be in a yielding  position looking as if she is lesser then himself.  They are both playing the role of a what a man "supposed" to be and where a women "should" be. today and many years ago this is still the same type of advertising happening all over the world. gender stereotype is still in full action. In this photo the women is showing a lot of skin making me believe she is a sexual being and likes to be where she is. The Greek god feller is only wearing pants and shoes no shirt showing his body off that shows what other men should look like, and if you look like Zeus you can get you a girl like this. shown to be strong as a man and weak as a women.

The Mask You Live In--Film Blog

What does it mean to be a Boy or a girl? My stepfather was all about boys playing with boy toys not meaning boy toy- "a young man who offers himself as a sex object." more of the lines of toy guns, GI Joe, etc.. my stepfather and other males in my life occasionally called me sugar cakes because i use to put my hands on my hips, "only girls put there hands on their hips." said step pops. That made me mad a lot because calling me a sugar cake to me at the time was calling me a girl. i am not sure if i wanted to play with suggested girl toys but i always like the guns, sports the whole nine. till this day my favorite colors red and black, boy colors.

its more to all of this but it is all i want to write tonight. :)

Where Am I Eating? why do I care!

Where Am I Eating? by Kelsey Timmerman

Do you know where your food comes from? Kelsey travels the world looking for the origin of his food and ours. from many places like the Ivory Coast to south America. He also talks about the labor that goes into our food.

Where Am I Eating? was a book i had to read for a class last semester. This book has change my thinking about food, because i knew that the food that i eat does not come from the store to my plate. It has to come from a another place right? do you ever ask yourself where did this come from? i highly suggest you do some research on the food you eat. Kelsey makes his points clear in this book for countless reasons, Such as what we take for granted. "The Starbucks Experience" is the first chapter in his book, He wanted to know where did Starbucks got its coffee from, He did try to ask them himself, but for some reason they would not tell him. when he went to Colombia to to find out where and how did they get there coffee. In case you did not know Starbucks has a fair trade certification called C.A.F.E., They focus on four key qualities,1. Quality, 2. Economic Accountability, Social Responsibility, and Environmental Leadership. This is what S.B looks for in there coffee. He doe stalk about bananas, chocolate, and apple juice.

                       Tessa Brugler- The Untold Story

Displaying IMG_1585.JPG

Tessa Alecia Brugler might be the nicest person that I've meet in my English 101 class so far, we were given the assignment to interview each other, as a class. My interview with miss Brugler was my first official interview progress and I loved it.when I called Tessa up to get more information for my blog, I asked her about her weekend, her weekend Consisted of relaxing and hanging out with her family, Also she took her brother back to school he wants to become a Physical therapist, and she went for a swim, she likes to swim it's one of her hobbies that she likes to do anytime the Occasion arrives. Tessa is a senior in high school attending Nazareth Area High School. In her 17 years of life, she pretty much has her future planned out, that's a lot more than me at the age. She is hoping to become an elementary school Teacher to shape young minds in mathematics, Very noble if you ask me. For a 17-year-old she is tall for her age she is 6’1 and she plays basketball often with her younger sister who's in the 8th grade and also tall for her age.I asked ‘who wins most of the time?’, She says ‘Obviously me’, fair enough. She likes being tall because it makes her stand out and that is what make her unique, ‘Has a lot of benefits’ , she says. Her day by day goes like this. Wake up,go to school, gym/basketball, for the most part. When she goes to the gym she meets up with her personal trainer Jeremiah for some time now. Miss Brugler has lots of fun with her trainer because it is a motivator and healthy. Very determined young women.

In loving memory Harambe.......

Image result for harambe meme
My life has been confusing in the best way, I mean I am taking this assignment as if I write religiously. I don't have anything profound philosophical metaphors to tell you. All I know is that I am not a serious writer for many reasons. This is hard for me right now, due to the fact that I don't like talking about myself. I feel as if there is nothing about me that people want to know so it's kinda useless. You will get confused while reading this should have said this a little bit earlier but stuff happens. let's talk about my life goals..........  I am from New York born and raised, I love the city wish I could go back. I have been in pennsylvania for about 6 years now. I have many brothers and sisters on both my mother and father's side of the family. What is your favorite type of meme?  Did you cry when Harambe got shot and killed?  No? Then we can't be friends for the fact you are not human and you have no respect for yourself, with all due respect.
